How Much Qur'an Should You Memorise Each Day?

The right daily amount is the one you can still revise tomorrow. Volume that you cannot return to is not Hifz; it is a queue of future forgetting.

Measure by finish, not by ambition

If you cannot recite yesterday’s new ayahs without looking, today’s new portion is too large. Shrink until return is easy. A beginner plan should start from that test, not from a juz’ chart.

Count revision as part of the amount

Ten new ayahs plus no return is heavier than three new ayahs plus a page of old Hifz. Balance is a daily decision, not a later season.

Protect a time, then fit the portion to it

Twenty protected minutes with a small range beat an open-ended sitting. The best time of day is the slot you can keep; the portion should match the slot.

Grow only after two steady weeks

Increase by a line or two, not a page, and only if testing is clean. If life gets loud, drop new work first. Retention of what you already carry is the win.
